Location Western Kentucky University is located in Bowling Green, Kentucky, a city with a population of 50,000 situated approximately 110 miles south of Louisville, Kentucky, and 61 miles north of Nashville, Tennessee. Resting on a hill overlooking the city of Bowling Green, the WKU campus is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful in the nation. Bowling Green is home to the General Motors Corvette Plant and the National Corvette Museum. Campus There are 66 major buildings on the 200-acre main campus and another 765 acres on the University Farm. The student body is made up of 18,000 students from all over the USA and more than 46 different countries.

Academic Excellence Western Kentucky University is an academically demanding university which is consistently ranked in the second tier of southern universities. Also included in this ranking are the University of Tampa, Florida and University of Tennessee-Martin. Western Kentucky University offers more than 150 programs of study. WKU students enjoy one of the highest rates of success among Kentucky college graduates in gaining admission to medical, dental, veterinary, pharmacy and medical technical schools. The Department of Agriculture graduates had the highest rate of acceptance into veterinary schools of any Kentucky university in the last 15 years. Western's Dental Hygiene program has had a 100 percent pass rate on the National Licensing Examination. Housing Western Kentucky University ESLI students reside in the WKU campus dorms. Each residence hall is equipped with computer and cable television connections (free internet). There are 18 residence halls and a year-round dorm for students who do not leave the campus during vacation and break periods. Location The Bowling Green Community College of Western Kentucky University is just a short distance from the main campus of WKU. A shuttle bus provides transportation between the Community College and the main campus. Housing The ESLI/Community College WKU students live in the Western Kentucky University dorms, take their meals in the WKU dining facilities and take the shuttle bus to and from class. It is a short 5 minute ride to the campus. |
