My name is Vladimir Ariza Casitllo. I am from Colombia and my major is Chemical Engineering. I came to USI because my dream off my life has been to learn English.
When I came here I knew a little bit of English, so the first weeks were horrible. I didn't understand any thing. When I began my classes in ESLI my English started improving. The ESLI's teachers are great, friendly, and patient. Now, after 3 months, I am so happy because my English is much better. I can have conversations and understand much better.
The USI has a wonderful International Student Program. It's very good because they are always caring for the international students. They organize many activities for the international students. It's wonderful because it helps the student feel very fine and it's important for improving English.
The people in USI and Evansville are very friendly. There are many people from other countries. It's very good because you can learn much about the other cultures. Life in Ruston Hall on the International floor is wonderful because the international students live there. It's a beautiful experience because everybody becomes a big family. Everybody cares for everybody.
I am sure this experience has been the best experience in all my life. This experience has given me many things. For example, I know now that I can speak English because before I thought that I can't speak English.
I know a lot of things now as fabulous new friends, places, and new cultures. In conclusion, I had chosen Evansville, ESLI and USI was the best option for me to learn English.Ariza Castillo,Vladmir - Colombia

Why should you study at ESLI? "We can meet a lot of people and become friends forever. When I started the program, I thought English was a difficult language to learn. But the teachers taught me everyday with new concepts, which made the experience much easier. The program opened doors for me to communicate with not only Americans, but also with the people around me." Diaz Puentes, Carolina - Colombia

I'm Angelica Gonzalez and I come from Colombia. Although I have only been enrolled in ESLI for one semester, the classmates, the teachers, and the McNeese's environment has made this experience unforgettable. The fact that we all come for the same purpose, improve our English, makes the classmates relationships more open and cooperative than any other relationship. "Group work" are the two words that mostly characterize ESLI. This is an important skill everyone needs because it will not only prepare you for college, but also for life. Every day in classes, teachers relate the class with actual life and with American culture to give us a better understanding on what's happening right now in America and the world. They make us realize, throughout assignments and compliments, that we can actually teach and give an example to Americans. Teachers open your eyes into a new world where not only you learn but also teach. Living on campus has allowed me to know other international and American students. Their culture, way of thinking, and traditions has opened my mind to new things and has helped me accept people that are not the way I am. Aside from learning different things from other people, I learned how to become independent and make decisions for myrself without having to rely on my parents' opinion or permission.

I am glad I came to Corpus Christi, the beautiful place where students can find a mix of the city with the beaches. If you like a peaceful life, this is the perfect place for you. The University is prettier than it looks on the internet.
The ESLI program gave me the opportunity to improve my English grammar and writing skills. I also met many people from different countris and learned about American life. The ESLI teachers and staff have been helpful and friendly. In addition, I have enjoyed extra curricular activities, such as field trips, dinners and meetings where we made friends with people from different cultures. It was an experience of a life time!Hernandez, Liz-Johana - Colombia

As an ESLI student, I've learned many things. This semester I had a great opportunity to learn about other cultures and meet new people. ESLI courses brought me knowledge and experiences together. Even though everything is different from my native country, Colombia, the teachers made me feel really comfortable. This program helped me improve my English grammar and writing skills that I will be able to use as I enroll in the university's MBA program. It has been one of the greatest rewarding opportunities that I've ever had.Herrera, Yina-Karina - Colombia

In 2005, I moved to live in the USA, and I decided to attend the univeristy in order to obtain my Master's in Environmental Science. However, I had a little problem, and this problem was that I could not communicate very well in English. Since I did not have the opportunity to study the English language before, I decided to enroll in the ESLI program in Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Three months after being here, I can communicate and understand English better. In addition, my English skills have really improved. I hope that next semester, I will be ready to go into the univeristy's regular courses. My enrollment in the English program has been a wonderful experience, especially because I met people from other countries with different cultures and religions than mine.Monroy, Blanca Stella - Colombia

ESLI has been an awesome experience; the program is not just about learning English as a second language, but also to meet new people from all around the world. Of course there are some moments to have fun with your new friends, and other ones to study really hard, especially in the writing and grammar classes. These classes are the most important ones, and at the end of the course you will find out that you learned a lot of stuff that you will apply a lot in college courses, and you will be thankful for that.
ESLI has become a part of my family in the U.S. by making sure that I have all that I need and by helping me solve different problems.
If you have the opportunity to come to ESLI McNeese, do not hesitate, come and learn about new cultures and improve your English as a second language. Murgueitio, Jose Luis - Colombia

I was very nervous about leaving home for the first time. But this experience is really exciting; you learn English and get to know another culture. The teachers are really very nice and we all get along well like a family. ESLI is more than an English course; it is an excellent opportunity for the students who are interested in attending undergraduate or graduate programs, because during the classes a lot of university skills are developed. Also, you can make friends from all over the world and have a lot of fun with them.Palacios-Paez, Andrea - Colombia

I enjoyed being in the ESLI program at McNeese. I had very intelligent, hard working, and friendly teachers. In addition, I met people from different countries. It was great because I increased my knowledge and my point of view of the world. I was very lucky to be in this program and to share experiences with people from other countries. I hope that many people have the experiences that I had. Perez, Claudia Esperanza - Colombia

Also, you will find people from your country, and there is no doubt they will support you. Perez, Julian Felipe - Colombia
